The Cost of Informal Job Growth

Good Jobs, Bad Jobs, No Jobs: Informal Labor Markets in Egypt, El Salvador, India, Russia and South Africa examines worker characteristics to reveal the enormous impact of informal job growth on living standards. The findings in this book are representative of trends in labor insecurity, especially among the working poor, in many other countries.

The book's main findings and the implications for labor markets, work standards, and policymakers were discussed. The event was being organized by EPI and the Global Policy Network, a worldwide consortium of organizations engaged in research and analysis of labor market conditions and trends.
