In advance of the historic presidential election in Mexico on July 2, 2000, EPI presented its latest global finance seminar, examining the economic and political factors affecting voter sentiment in that country.

The panel discussion, led by EPI President Jeff Faux and featuring John Saxe Fernandez of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Eric Olson from the Washington Office for Latin America, and La Jornada correspondent David Brooks, looked at a number of unique factors that have led to one of the most closely contested campaigns the ruling party has faced during its over 70 years of uninterrupted rule.

This event was recorded in June 2000 at the National Press Club.
